Chewy M&M Cookies

Updated: May 12, 2023

A Classic from Celebrating Sweets

I have made a few fodmap swaps to reduce the fodmaps in these amazing cookies! Check it out below!

These cookies are always a hit because who doesn't love M&Ms? They are soft, chewy, and oh so delicious.

They are fairly easy to make with pretty normal cookie ingredients! Check out my Low-FODMAP notes/swaps below!

Recipe from Celebrating Sweets

Low FODMAP and Baking Notes:

  • I can tolerate the fodmaps in wheat/bread products like flour, if you cannot, you can experiment with different flour mixtures. For this, I would recommend trying 1/2 cup almond flour and 1 cup gluten free flour instead of AP.

  • Do take her up on the mixture of chocolate and M&Ms. Use 1 Cup M&Ms. While these are milk chocolate, they are small and a few in a cookie should be just fine. Then use 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks (chopped from a bar) or dark chocolate chips. Dark chocolate has a lower milk and thus lower lactose content.

  • Non Low FODMAP Notes

    • I would recommend the chilling the dough. The notes for the recipe on the website mentions this as optional, but I would recommend chilling for 30 minutes.

    • My oven took a bit longer to cook these cookies. It took more like 12 minutes for the cookies to firm up enough/bake enough. So just watch them carefully around 10 minutes. They will indeed firm up a bit out of the oven too, so don't expect them to be fully firm, but just a note that they may need a tiny bit longer than expected depending on your oven.

TRY THESE.

No seriously, try these. Be the hit at your next party. Then let me know on Instagram or by commenting below how it went!
