Candy Crush Crunch

Valentine's Day is on the way! Make sure you are prepared with this super easy and quick treat! It even looks like love and smiles in a bowl! With reds, pinks, and whites shining through, any Valentine would be lucky to receive a bag of this cute lil'mix. This treat can also easily be made gluten-free!

My Candy Crush Crunch is so easy, requiring only a few ingredients and a very short prep time with no bake. It's perfect for an easy bagging for school valentines, a bowl full of treats for Galentine's Day, or a cute dessert for family and friends for the holiday! The sweetness of the white chocolate mixed with the rich M&Ms and then the saltiness of the pretzels all combine perfectly together to make the best bites! You can hear the crunch and it's so satisfying!

The ingredients are fairly low-fodmap using rice Chex and Cheerios and white chocolate which doesn't have an over abundance of lactose with the white chocolate. If you wanted to make this even lower fodmap, you could use sourdough or gluten free pretzels (if you did the latter and checked your sprinkles-this mix can easily also be gluten-free!) So you can enjoy without worrying about fodmap gut irritation or bloating!

Prep

Time: 25 minutes

Yield: A tray full!

Materials

  • Baking Spatula

  • Large Mixing Bowl

  • parchment or wax paper

  • Baking tray

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cup Cheerios (go for the strawberry ones if you're feeling fun!)

  • 1 cup Rice Chex ( I just used kroger brand!)

  • 1 and 1/4 cup skinny stick pretzels broken in half  (use gluten free if desire to make recipe gluten free) (again used kroger brand, gotta love a deal!)

  • 1/2 cup (and lil bit more for your heart) valentines M&Ms (forgotten in pic below, but crucial!)

  • 1/4 cup red bauble sprinkles

  • 1 tablespoon and shake of red sugar crystal sprinkles or sprinkles of your choice

  • 10 oz of melting white chocolate  (I used the 10oz bag of Ghiardelli melting white chocolate wafers which worked perfectly)

  • 1 tsp of coconut oil (also not pictured)

Directions:

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment or wax paper and set aside.

  2. Pour Cheerios and Chex into large mixing bowl

  3. Break 1 and 1/4 cups quantity of skinny pretzels in half and add to mixing bowl

  4. Add in M&Ms and sprinkles

  5. Add melting white chocolate wafers and coconut oil to microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Microwave in 15 second increments after until melted. It only too me about 45 seconds total for these to melt enough that if stirred they are liquid-y.

  6. Pour white chocolate over snack mix and stir with baking spatula until thoroughly mixed together and coated.

  7. Transfer mixture to lined baking tray and then press down and spread out until the mixture covers the surface.

  8. Let harden in the fridge for 30-60 minutes and then break apart. Store in airtight container in fridge (2 weeks) or counter (1 week) or share with your Valentines! ❤️
